about
One of his less well known songs, 'This Time Tomorrow' is nonetheless another brilliant song by Ray Davies (again). The original recording is cool - a bit messy I guess, but the chords, melody and lyric are as ever, beautifully concise.
It took me about 3-4 hours to record, but i get the feeling the Kinks were a bit quicker!
lyrics
This time tomorrow where will we be?
On a spaceship somewhere sailing across an empty sea?
This time tomorrow what will we know?
Will we still be here watching an in-flight movie show?
I'll leave the sun behind me and I'll watch the clouds as they sadly pass me by
Seven miles below me, I can see the world and it ain't so big at all
This time tomorrow what will we see?
Fields full of houses, endless rows of crowded streets?
I don't where I'm going, I don't want to see
I feel the world below me looking up at me
Leave the sun behind me, and watch the clouds as they sadly pass me by
And I'm in perpetual motion and the world below doesn't matter much to me
This time tomorrow where will we be?
On a spaceship somewhere sailing across any empty sea?
This time tomorrow, this time tomorrow

Well-written, well-recorded, well-produced. Lots of differenttempos/textures, yet still has a cohesive sound, anchored by that gorgeous voice..great guitar work also

Bouncy, jangly power pop with a slash of acidic shadow, as the very best twee always has. From Boston, they met at band camp (not Bandcamp). Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 2, 2019
